Working for an airline I know to expect working on holidays and on off days. I am prepared for delays or change of flights. It's possible to be scheduled to fly to Oslo only to end up in Barcelona.
And once in a while we get stuck...
...like last Saturday when it wasn't possible for our flight crew to leave Turin, Italy. It seemed like all Italians had come downtown "Torino" to celebrate 150 years of Italy's unification. (Turin was the first capital). It didn't help that the Giro D'Italia also happened to go right through downtown.
And so we were stuck for an extra day in Italy, no crew bus being able to reach our hotel which was smack in the middle of a thousands of partying Italians and bicyclists speeding on the streets.
I am not complaining though...Italy is a pretty good place to be stuck.
