Black Forest II - Vogtsbauernhof - Outdoor Museum

The most liked symbol of the Black Forest is probably the "Bollenhut", the hat with the big, fluffy, round balls on top. Young, single girls wear the hat in red, married women wear it in black. Little girls and older ladies have to settle for a plain black cap. No big, funny hat for them.
On our trip Gutach, we got to talk to some Black Forest girls...

...we ate some Black Forest Cake...

...we tried bread with herbs, baked in stone ovens...

...with its old, old houses...

...interior from times long past...

...and crafted a Black Forest doll ourselves...

Black Forest

We spent a glorious day in the Black Forest.
I mean, how better to celebrate spring than with a cute little calf and spring flowers growing in the fields?

Berlin II

While husband and son went to Berlin mainly to "paaaarty", they did take a few hours to check out museums, too. One, that I think is very interesting, is the "DDR-Museum" which shows everyday life in East Germany, before 1989. From toys to Trabis to prison cells...

Weekend in Berlin

Would you like to know how we spent the weekend?
Daughter and I had tea and cake. We ate chocolate and walked downtown where we bought more chocolate. We went clothes shopping. We sat on the couch and watched 5 episodes of Glee (thank you Grandma and Opa). We had a sleep over party where we ate more chocolate.

Husband and son flew to Berlin...
