Moonshine or Where To Get The World's Best Hamburgers

If you want to taste the world's best Hamburger you need to go Moonshine, Illinois, population 2. There is a husband and wife team who make hamburgers that are juicier and tastier than anything you've ever had. At least that's what their patrons say and that's what they smell like. If you don't eat meat like me, you can have their equally good chicken burgers.

The Moonshine Store was founded in 1889 by William Martz. Today, people from all over America and even further away come to taste one of Helen Tuttle's Burgers. Helen has been serving lunch since '82. Opening time is 6:00am till 1:00pm. Grill closes at 12:30 sharp. Cash only.

Besides a tiny wooden sign, that is barely visible, there are no signs whatsoever. So, if you are interested follow these directions:
Let your navigation system take you to Casey, Illinois. Take Rt 49 south through town approximately 6 minutes. Go straight at curve and take immediate left on 400 Rd. Follow to 300 Rd, then turn left and go 2 miles to the Moonshine Store.
There are rather packed on holidays, make sure you get there early!
And just in case you think I am exaggerating, watch this segment of the CBS Sunday Morning Show.
