The Amish

Of course, a few days later, while visiting the villages Arthur and Arcola in Illinois, the kids and I were close to trading our Mini in for a horse drawn buggy...

In 1865 the first Amish settlers came to Central Illinois and have by now grown into a community of over 4,500. The town of Arthur is full of Amish farms, little stores selling vegetables and fruit and lots of buggies.
Most Amish children are able to operate a horse and buggy by age 12.
